About Earthly Oasis
We didn't start with a business plan.
We started with plants.
Earthly Oasis began in Rustenburg, South Africa, through something far simpler than a business idea—a shared love for nature and the satisfaction of watching something living grow.
For Elsabé, it began with a small collection of house plants and air plants, an interest she shared with her mother. Over time, a few plants became many, curiosity grew, and the collection began taking on a life of its own.
There was no
company yet.
Just an increasing fascination with creating, growing and understanding living environments.

THEN CAME TWO EMPTY ENCLOSURES.
Elsabé's mother gave her two enclosures that had previously housed spiders.
When the spiders were sold
the enclosures were given a different purpose.
That seemingly small change opened the door to something much larger.
Creating environments inside glass introduced new questions:

THEN CAME THE TINY THINGS.
And an entirely different world opened up.
Elsabe began collecting Powder Blue isopods from our own garden.
What started as curiosity quickly became cultivation.
She began breeding them, studying their behaviour and learning about the role microfauna plays within bioactive environments.
That curiosity expanded into different isopod varieties and eventually springtails, including Orange Springtails.
The more we learned, the more fascinating these tiny organisms became.
They weren't simply inhabitants of an ecosystem.
They were part of what made the ecosystem work.
CURIOSITY
BECAME
KNOWLEDGE.
While Elsabé continued growing her plant and microfauna collections, Chris became increasingly involved—helping where needed, sharing ideas and watching what had started as a personal interest develop into something much bigger.
The passion was obvious.
So was the opportunity.
Chris encouraged Elsabé to consider turning what she
had built into something professional.
That idea became the foundation of Earthly Oasis.
THEN THE PROBLEMS STARTED TEACHING US.
Working with living environments also revealed their limitations.
We experimented with homemade solutions, tested different
approaches and learned through experience.
Some ideas worked.
Others didn't.
But every problem taught us something.
And eventually, those problems began shaping
the way we thought about products themselves.
We realized that something designed for a
living ecosystem shouldn't simply look good:

PROBLEMS CREATED IDEAS.
Chris has always had a natural interest in designing, building and solving problems.
The challenges we experienced led to experimentation with something considerably more ambitious: our own ecosystem enclosure.
The project taught us an enormous amount about airflow, sealing, pest protection, lighting, manufacturing and the realities of developing a physical product.
Today, that enclosure remains part of our ongoing research and development.
Rather than rushing it to market, we've chosen to take what we've learned and rethink it properly—with a cleaner, more minimal design, greater manufacturing control and the eventual introduction of our own in-house 3D-printing capability.
WHAT EARTHLY OASIS
IS TODAY
Earthly Oasis is growing into an ecological lifestyle brand centred around living ecosystems.
Today our world includes:
Plants
Living greenery for homes, displays and ecosystem environments.
Isopods & Springtails
Microfauna cultivated for bioactive ecosystems and the fascinating hobby surrounding them.
Natural Materials & Ecosystem Essentials
The components that help transform empty spaces into living environments.
Knowledge & Guidance
Practical information built from our own experience, experimentation and continued learning.
Product Development
Ideas created around genuine problems, tested before we're comfortable putting the Earthly Oasis name on them.
These aren't separate interests.
Together, they form an ecosystem.
And that is exactly how we see Earthly Oasis.Useful first.
Beautiful always.
LIVING ECOSYSTEMS,
REDEFINED.
We believe good design begins with purpose.
A product should solve a problem before it decorates a room.
An ecosystem should function before it impresses.
And when functionality and thoughtful design work together, something special happens.
This philosophy influences what we grow, what we breed, what we develop and what we eventually choose to sell.
We don't want to create products simply because we can.
We want to create things worth putting our name on.Our slogan is more than a description of what we sell.
It represents what we're working toward.
Earthly Oasis is about bringing together the elements that make living environments possible—plants, microfauna, natural materials, knowledge and thoughtful design.
We want to make these ecosystems easier to understand, easier to build and more rewarding to experience.
Whether that ecosystem exists inside glass, throughout a home, around a workspace or somewhere completely unexpected, the principle remains the same:
Create something living.BUILT THROUGH EXPERIENCE.
Earthly Oasis isn't built around pretending we already know everything.
And when something isn't good enough, we go back and change it.
That's why some products take longer.
It's why designs change.
And it's why we're comfortable saying when something is still being developed.
Trust must be earned.
We intend to earn it through the products we deliver and the way we treat the people who choose Earthly Oasis.
WHERE WE'RE GOING
Earthly Oasis is still at the beginning of its story.
Our ambitions extend beyond the products available today.
We're working toward broader ecosystem solutions,
stronger educational resources,
an engaged community,
expanded product ranges and greater
control over how our products are
designed and manufactured.
That includes bringing key
manufacturing capabilities in-house,
allowing us to prototype,
test and improve products
on our own terms.

FROM OUR
OASIS TO
YOURS.
Earthly Oasis began
with a few plants.
Then two empty enclosures.
Then some tiny creatures collected from the garden.
None of us knew exactly where those small beginnings would lead.
Today, they're becoming something much bigger.
And we're onlyonly getting started.
